We understand that the finish of your project is critical, and what is required is a quick finish, a smooth and elegant finish,<\/span><\/span><\/span><\/p>\n

We refer to this as no detection as there are no visible dark spots along the linear light source.<\/span><\/span><\/span><\/p>\n

Below is a recommended approach to purchasing components for your LED profile to help you achieve this unobtrusive look.<\/span><\/span><\/span><\/p>\n

Consider the depth of the profile you use<\/span><\/span><\/span><\/p>\n

When choosing your profile, the depth of the profile will have an impact on the unnoticed finish<\/span><\/span><\/span><\/p>\n

, as the deeper the profile, the more light must dissipate against the diffuser.<\/span><\/span><\/span><\/p>\n

Selecting a deeper diffuser will also have an effect on brightness,<\/span><\/span><\/span><\/p>\n

The more lights from the distributor, the lower the brightness of the overall finish.<\/span><\/span><\/span><\/p>\n

Choose the appropriate tape for the profile<\/span><\/span><\/strong><\/h2>\n

A bar contains a number of LEDs per meter, when trying to achieve an indefinite finish,<\/span><\/span><\/span><\/p>\n

Selecting a strip with more lights per meter will help ensure that your final project will not be caught.<\/span><\/span><\/span><\/p>\n

We have two main tapes available that we recommend to help achieve this.<\/span><\/span><\/span><\/p>\n

The handy <\/span><\/span>double<\/span><\/span><\/a> range is 120 lumens per meter, which is more suitable for projects on a tight budget.<\/span><\/span><\/span><\/p>\n

Most suitable for the most professional large scale project where quality and sustainability are paramount.<\/span><\/span><\/span><\/p>\n

\"\"Choose the right publisher<\/span><\/span><\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n

We stock 3 main types of dispensers<\/span><\/span><\/span><\/p>\n

Clear – Used for maximum brightness, this diffuser will not be able to provide a streak-free finish<\/span><\/span><\/span><\/p>\n

semi clear – brightness is important but not essential,<\/span><\/span><\/span><\/p>\n

It will provide non-detection capabilities if the correct tape is used. <\/span>In this case ,<\/span><\/span><\/span><\/p>\n

We recommend using tape to achieve the spot-free finish.<\/span><\/span><\/span><\/p>\n

Opal – Use when the finish is in maximum intent, and least likely to spot diffuser when lit<\/span><\/span><\/span><\/p>\n

 <\/p>\n

As an example of an undetectable light strip, we have an aluminum profile with a semi-transparent diffuser and matching end caps.<\/span><\/span><\/span><\/p>\n

The tape used here is <\/span><\/span>triple<\/span><\/span><\/a> with 240 LEDs per meter.<\/span><\/span><\/span><\/p>\n

\"\"When selecting the right tape for your project, it is important to take into consideration how the tape will be placed within the LED profile.<\/span><\/span><\/span><\/p>\n

The first aspect to consider is the width of the tape.<\/span><\/span><\/span><\/p>\n

The tape needs to be thin enough to fit in the duct, if the tape selected is too wide it will not fit in the duct.<\/span><\/span><\/span><\/p>\n

The cutting points of the tape is a factor to consider and how to measure this for the lengths of profile you need.<\/span><\/span><\/span><\/p>\n

The cut points on the tapes are variable so it is important to take this into consideration when selecting the appropriate tape for the intended length of your lead profile.<\/span><\/span><\/span><\/p>\n

It is recommended that a 24V strip is required as there is less chance of a voltage drop and this reduces the risk of spotting in the end product.<\/span><\/span><\/span><\/p>\n

If the strip is too short, or too far from the end cap where the wire is fixed, a dark spot will appear at one or both ends of the linear light,<\/span><\/span><\/span><\/p>\n

Which is not desirable.<\/span><\/span><\/span><\/p>\n

Obtain an IP65 entry rating on the profile<\/span><\/span><\/span><\/p>\n

When creating a lighting installation for environments that require an IP65 rating, it is important for us to LED an IP65 profile and ensure that it is properly sealed to avoid any leaks.<\/span><\/span><\/span><\/p>\n

It is highly recommended to use an IP20 or IP65 strip inside a LED profile IP65 and it is not highly recommended to use an IP65 strip inside a LED profile IP20.<\/span><\/span><\/span><\/p>\n

If an IP65 strip is used inside an IP20 LED profile,<\/span><\/span><\/span><\/p>\n

This is likely to allow moisture to enter the lead profile and cause condensation within the profile, which will corrode the tape and cause a potential hazard within the circuit itself.<\/span><\/span><\/span><\/p>\n

During installation, we recommend sealing the ends with silicone to reduce the risk of any water leakage.<\/span><\/span><\/span><\/p>\n

LED lights come in very compact, durable and shock-resistant packaging, which makes them can be used in a variety of ways.<\/span><\/span><\/span><\/p>\n

One of the increasingly popular methods is LED strip lighting.<\/span><\/span><\/span><\/p>\n

Linear (strip) lighting has become very popular and has become an affordable option for both commercial and residential lighting applications.<\/span><\/span><\/span><\/p>\n

Buying LED strip lights may seem relatively easy,<\/span><\/span><\/span><\/p>\n

But there are several things you need to consider to make sure you get the right kind of light for your needs.<\/span><\/span><\/span><\/p>\n

Follow this post as we walk through the important factors of LED strip lighting and go through our full line of LED strip lights.<\/span><\/span><\/span><\/p>\n

Types of LED strips<\/span><\/span><\/span><\/p>\n

The LED strips category is a broad category that includes all the different types of LED strip lights.<\/span><\/span><\/span><\/p>\n

Depending on how you plan to use the LED strips, you may need one type over the other.<\/span><\/span><\/span><\/p>\n

For example, IP65 flexible LED strips are better suited for outdoor and wet areas as they have a protective coating that makes them waterproof.<\/span><\/span><\/span><\/p>\n

Below is a brief description of each type of LED Strip Light,<\/span><\/span><\/span><\/p>\n

This guide will go into more detail later because there are several types of tape in some of these categories.<\/span><\/span><\/span><\/p>\n

DC LED – Powered by 12VDC, these flexible strip lights have an adhesive backing for easy installation and can be cut to two inches.<\/span><\/span><\/span><\/p>\n

It is offered in water-resistant options and comes in 30 LED\/M or 60 LED\/M.<\/span><\/span><\/span><\/p>\n

AC LED – Flexible Strip Lights that work directly from your electrical outlet.<\/span><\/span><\/span><\/p>\n

Just plug them in and they are ready to go.<\/span><\/span><\/span><\/p>\n

LED Rope Light – Multi-directional packaged LED lights in standard rope light packaging.<\/span><\/span><\/span><\/p>\n

High Output LED Strips – High power LEDs from Cree, Luxeon and Nichia mounted on rigid strips with onboard drivers and circuits.<\/span><\/span><\/span><\/p>\n

LEDs\/Length<\/span><\/span><\/span><\/p>\n

When purchasing LED strip lights, it is important to look at the number of LEDs per length.<\/span><\/span><\/span><\/p>\n

For brighter output and higher light quality, you should look for strip lights that have the highest number of LEDs per foot (meter, yard, etc.).<\/span><\/span><\/span><\/p>\n

If the LEDs are spaced too far across the strips, they can produce spotty lighting rather than a steady line of light.<\/span><\/span><\/span><\/p>\n

It can be confusing because manufacturers use different units of measurement to advertise this.<\/span><\/span><\/span><\/p>\n

My recommendation would be to stick to a specific measurement and then convert all the other measurements to see which strips have the most LEDs per given unit of measurement.<\/span><\/span><\/span><\/p>\n

Note that this is not the only factor in determining brightness and light quality.<\/span><\/span><\/span><\/p>\n

for example ,<\/span><\/span><\/span><\/p>\n

LED Rope Light has more LEDs per foot than DC Flexible LED Strips,<\/span><\/span><\/span><\/p>\n

But they are dim LEDs and are more visible than flex strips<\/span><\/span><\/span><\/p>\n

, so always check the brightness of the LEDs as well.<\/span><\/span><\/span><\/p>\n

LED strip brightness<\/span><\/span><\/span><\/p>\n

As LED technology continues to improve, LED strips continue to reach brighter capabilities.<\/span><\/span><\/span><\/p>\n

This does not mean that all bars will be super bright, and in some cases, you may not even want the light to be super bright.<\/span><\/span><\/span><\/p>\n

An example of this is the accent lighting inside the shelf.<\/span><\/span><\/span><\/p>\n

LED brightness is measured in lumens.<\/span><\/span><\/span><\/p>\n

Depending on how you use your LED strips, you’ll probably want a certain level of lumens.<\/span><\/span><\/span><\/p>\n

For accent lighting, you probably don’t want anything brighter than 200 lumens per foot,<\/span><\/span><\/span><\/p>\n

But for other applications where you want more light, it just depends on your personal preference for how bright you want it to be.<\/span><\/span><\/span><\/p>\n

So, be sure to note the Lumens\/Length along with the LEDs\/Length as this will have a strong effect on the light quality and the type of light the strip emits.<\/span><\/span><\/span><\/p>\n

Our LED strip lights come in a wide range of single colors as well as multi-color (RGB) strips.<\/span><\/span><\/span><\/p>\n

. <\/span>The simplest LED strip lights are single colors that emit only one constant color of light.<\/span><\/span><\/span><\/p>\n

We offer them in: warm white, neutral white, cool white, red, green, blue, yellow and ultra violet (UV).<\/span><\/span><\/span><\/p>\n

Color changing strips are called RGB strips. <\/span>These LEDs can display any combination of red, green and blue colors.<\/span><\/span><\/span><\/p>\n

Color temperature is how we differentiate between the different whites an LED can produce.<\/span><\/span><\/span><\/p>\n

Temperature refers to how “warm” or “cool” the light appears.<\/span><\/span><\/span><\/p>\n

Temperature is measured in Kelvins with higher temperatures representing cool colors (a blue hue) and lower temperatures representing warmer colors (the yellowish light you would expect from a bulb).<\/span><\/span><\/span><\/p>\n

      The T-Mounted LED Profile is flush mounted into the surface for a cleaner, more refined aesthetic.<\/span><\/span><\/span><\/p>\n

      We use these led profiles mostly on wooden surfaces like shelves or cabinets.<\/span><\/span><\/span><\/p>\n

      These are mostly similar to surface-mount LED profiles, except they fit flush against the surface rather than being installed on top.<\/span><\/span><\/span><\/p>\n

      To install the recessed led profile, you should hollow out the surface before according to the width of the led profile.<\/span><\/span><\/span><\/p>\n

        The corner-mounted profile lamp has a vertical angle, and can be placed in the corner.<\/span><\/span><\/span><\/p>\n

        Its installation is similar to the surface-mounted profile hand, except that you have to install it in the corners.<\/span><\/span><\/span><\/p>\n

              Heat sink (aluminum clip)<\/span><\/span><\/span><\/p>\n
