The main difference is that the latter is synthetic and natural parquet. The laminate imitates the wood tone and is not a solid piece, but made of boards. The outer layer is the layer that mimics the color of the wood. Laminate floors are cheaper and installed faster. The quality is worse and it looks more synthetic than parquet.

Parquet maintenance tips

If you already have parquet at home or have decided to install it, remember these  tips to protect your parquet so that it looks shiny and new  , and always looks beautiful and bright:

• Install a carpet on the door of the house, as the dust that comes from outside will corrode the parquet.
• Try not to wear shoes at home, especially shoes with sharp heels, and even less so on rainy days. Mud and moisture damage this type of flooring.
• Cover the legs of chairs and some furniture with protectors. They sell them with stickers, and therefore, by pulling them, we will not damage the floor as much.
• If a cup of water or the like falls, wipe it off immediately with a soft cloth.
• Don’t clean it with the same other floor soap. There are specific products for it, or better yet, finish it off with vinegar and a few drops of essential oil to keep it looking natural.
• If your parquet is exposed to intense sunlight during the day, try not to hit it directly or this may cause discoloration of the wood.
• Avoid sweeping every time you clean it. There are brushes with special bristles that are more delicate with it. Often, a soft mop will suffice to get rid of the dust.
• If after a while there are scratches on the floor and they are not very deep, repair them yourself with wood restoration putties.
