The quality of the light source depends on three main parameters, namely, CRI, relative color temperature (CCT), and luminous flux.

CRI is a measure of the color recognition of a light source compared to a standard light source (eg, daylight), and CRI corresponds to an index that gives better color reproduction of an object. Generally, the CRI corresponds to Ra>80, otherwise it will not meet the daily lighting requirements.

CCT is expressed in terms of absolute temperature K. When the color temperature is about 3000K, the light has a yellowish tint. When the color temperature is above 5000K, the light is bluish. Light with different color temperatures has different visual and lighting effects. For home lighting, a color temperature of no more than 4000K is recommended.

The luminous flux varies with the wattage of the ceiling light. The higher the wattage, the greater the light flux. A very high luminous flux may affect the color rendering index of the ceiling lighting and may come at the cost of accelerated light decay.

Higher CRI and luminous flux mean better ceiling light performance and a higher price. Different wattage also corresponds to different prices, so here you can choose according to your needs.

Light decay degree (service life)

In the process of use, the brightness of the lamp will become less and less. LED light decay means that after a period of use, the LED light intensity will be lower than the original light intensity, and the bottom is the LED light decay. Light decay is related to the service life of the lamp. We can also see the light decay of the product marked on the packages or brochures for information. The internal industry standard is 1000 hours of light decay for 0; 3000 hours of 1% light decay; 10,000 hours of 3% light decay; 50,000 hours of light decay no more than 30% can.

In general, the use of high-quality chips and constant current drivers can reduce the degree of light decay, while the production process is difficult, but there are defects that may also increase the degree of light decay. Heat dissipation is one of the biggest factors affecting light decay. If the heat dissipation of the product is poor, it will greatly accelerate the light decay.

Materials

When purchasing ceiling lighting, high-quality LED strips and fixed drivers should also be considered. Good chips and drivers can make the ceiling light achieve uniform light color and not have strong light. At the same time, the ceiling light needs good heat dissipation, and aluminum is a better thermal conductivity material. The general aluminum heat sink, with strong convection design and good heat dissipation performance, can effectively reduce light decay and extend service life.
