Method number 1 – use a loop

Perhaps the most unsafe option, because in this case, a connection is created from the old electrical “point” to the new connection point. As a result, you don’t just have to move the socket down or up, you can just create another outlet next to it.

The advantage of this method is that as a result you will have a new outlet and at the same time you can leave the old one. In addition, the cost of materials needed to move the outlet independently is reduced.

However, you will get more disadvantages:

1. The loopback connection is very unreliable and is not strongly recommended by the PUE rules.
2. The wire from one point to another will be laid horizontally, which is also very dangerous (we are accustomed to branching out to switches and other accessories that are carried out only vertically). For your forgetfulness, you can accidentally get an electric shock if you decide, for example, to drill a hole in the wall. To prevent this from happening, we recommend that before moving the outlet look for wires in the wall.
3. The current load on the product will increase, because two points will be connected by one loop. If you connect powerful electrical appliances (for example, an electric stove and a microwave oven) to both outlets, the wiring may fail and, as a result, a short circuit.

By the way, the cable connection can have another important advantage – the wire does not have to be placed in the wall. You can manually move the outlet in an open way using the cable channel. Also in this case, it is better to use an overhead model of the product, which will allow transportation to another place without breaking the concrete wall! This option is most often used in order to beautifully transfer the outlet to a cabinet in the kitchen or to the balcony.

Method No. 2 – Extension wire

The second way to independently move the outlet in the apartment is to simply extend the electrical line to the new gate. In this case, you have to destroy the wall, but still this option is more correct than the first.

The technology is as follows:

1. Close the circuit breaker outlet group.
2. With a screwdriver, we check that there is no current on the terminals.
3. Remove the decorative cover and pull the housing from the lights.
4. Using the punch, we create a flash to the new contact point.
5. We lengthen the line, connecting the wires with a twist or another  method of connecting wires .
6. Instead of the old gate, we install a junction box and put in it the place of attachment of the veins.
7. We install the socket and connect the outlet to the network.

This is how you can make a simple transfer of the power outlet with a gateway to another wall or even to the floor (sometimes this option is also used). We draw your attention to the fact that it is necessary to extend the connector with a cable of the same section and metal of manufacture. The main mistake that electricians can make when using this method is that the contact of the elongated wire is placed in the strobe of the old socket and covered with alabaster. It is strictly forbidden to do this, as in this case, access to the connectors will be closed, although they fail more often than one piece of power!

Method number 3 – conclusion of a new line

Well, the safest and most reliable way to move an electrical outlet is to add a wire from the junction box. In this case, you will have to spend more time and effort, but, as we said, it will be true! In addition, a new branch of the wire will allow you to move the product up to the opposite wall.

Therefore, you will first need to turn off the electricity in the house, and then dismantle the old line with the outlet. The strobe is smeared with mortar and instead a new one is created, leading from one wall to another or even to another room through the wall (at your discretion). The cable is then placed in the cavity created, and led to a new socket, where it is connected to the core.

As you can see, there is nothing complicated, the only problem is that you have to destroy the wall decor yourself, which does not particularly make sense after a major overhaul.
