Treatment of wall and ceiling cracks

• Put some putty on the spatula, and pull the putty on the wall lengthwise (from top to bottom), and repeat the step until you fill all the cracks.
• Apply a second layer of putty, but horizontally.
• Wait for the putty to dry, then sand the wall with sandpaper.
• Paint the surface with the color you want, and it is preferable to paint the entire facade. So that no difference appears about the location of the incision.

Epoxy for deep cracks

• Individual nails or hammer.
• Liquid cement.
• Epoxy adhesive.

• Liquid cement.

• Clean the cracks, with a stiff brush.
• Put the nails inside the crack using a hammer or a straightener, and leave a distance of 12 inches between each nail and the other, to ensure that the epoxy is trapped inside the cracks.
• Mix two equal parts of the epoxy into the bowl and mix with a spatula.
• Apply the epoxy inside the cracks (completely dry), evenly distributing it, making sure the nails are always covered with the material.
• Dip a paintbrush in the thinner to help spread the epoxy.
• Leave the material to dry for 8-10 hours.
• Inject the crack with liquid cement using a silicone spreader.
• Leave the site to dry for a week.
• Sand the surface.
• Apply suitable wallpaper or paint the surface of the crack.

Liquid foam for various types of cracks

Liquid foam or foam is one of the best, newest and easiest ways to treat cracks now.  Liquid foam comes  in a spray can and is used to fill cracks, whether large or small, thick, wide or thin. Foam is effective not only in eliminating and hiding cracks, but also in preventing their reappearance, perhaps forever.

• Clean the crack to be closed with foam well using the brush; to ensure better adhesion.
• Spray the incision with a spray of water. To help the foam take the final shape.
• Wear gloves, install the nozzle of the foam can, shake it well, then hold the can upside down, insert the nozzle into the crack, and press to start filling the crack by 50-70% only; As the size of the foam will double to fill in the rest of the voids.
• Spray the foam with water.
• Leave the foam for an hour (according to the instructions on the package); to take the final form.
• In the event that excesses of the material appear, you can cut the excesses with a knife or blade, then sand the place with sandpaper.
• Paint the wall the right color.

Other ways to close cracks

If the thickness of the cracks ranges between 2-4 millimeters, clean the crack using a putty knife, as the cracks contain insects or dust that impede the crack treatment process, then apply one of the two methods:

• Dusty dough:  This is one of the best ways to eliminate cracks. Where many engravers use it, and it is an old method, but it is still effective until now, as the dough is prepared using sand, gypsum and cement, and then placed inside the crack, with pieces of ropes used to tie the scaffold.
• Aluminum wire:  one of the oldest crack processing methods; Where the aluminum wire is placed inside the cracks with cut ropes, then using cork or foam paste, and this method is the best for treating the cracks that appear under the windows or next to the doors.
