Purpose and utilization of connectors

The main purpose of this clamp is to do necessary branches from the main electrical wire without breaking the main line. A duble-type connector is installed at the junction of the trunk cable with branch wires without cutting it. To do this, it is enough to simply remove part of the external insulation and fix the clamp with wire.

The advantage is that the dubles allow the connection of copper and aluminum electrical wires. It is important to take into account that connecting copper to aluminum without using an intermediate plate, mainly copper, is unacceptable, because after some time the oxidation process can begin.

Connecting conductors using branch compression is often used when it is necessary to install electrical networks for domestic or industrial use, or connect electrical equipment for lighting. Nuts can be used to connect wires in all power supply networks with a voltage of up to 660 V

Practical example

Consider a multi-storey building with seven floors. As you know, at the entrance to each floor it is customary to have distribution boards. From the basement to the top, a four- or five-core cable is carried out (in new houses with modern wiring, where the ground conductor goes separately). Go through all the guards on the floors. Of all the apartments armor is already powered. In this case, the use of a duble type connector is absolutely necessary to ensure that the electrical wiring on each floor is connected to a common trunk cable without breaking it on each individual floor.

If in this case, make “trunk” breaks in all floors, connecting them to terminal blocks, this will significantly reduce the level of reliability of power supply to consumers. That is, if there is no connection at one of the stages with consumers of the lower floors, then consumers of all upper floors, who, in turn, are connected to this stage, in this case run the risk of being left without effort.

Design pressure

The branch compression device is as follows: a metal core is located in a polycarbonate insulating body (a material belonging to the group of thermoplastics, which is a polyester of carbonic acid and insulating alcohols). This core includes two rods, as well as a plate between them. All parts are connected by screws. In both molds there are grooves where the wires fit. The “duble” is selected depending on the cross-section of the trunk and the branch cable/wire. Clamps marks can be as follows: U731M, U733M, U734M, U739M, U859M, U870M, U871M, U872M. Wiring rules

To connect the required connector to the main electrical cable, you must first dismantle the clamp. To do this, it is necessary to remove the fastening rings located on both sides of the “duble”. Next, the bolts connecting the formwork and the plate between them are unscrewed.

Then cable stripping is required according to the length of the intermediate plate inside the compress. Insulation cleaning is no longer recommended.

How to connect more wires? very simple! The exposed parts of the conductors are inserted into the grooves of the templates, and then tightened with screws. Now the resulting design is stacked again in the insulated polycarbonate “walduble” case. You can see that there are four holes in the case. The first hole is tightly closed, the second is intended for the branch cable, and the main electrical connector is pulled through the remaining two holes. In this way, the electrical cables are connected to a duble.

Do not forget that the duble-type connection is not able to ensure the tightness of all joints, therefore, during operation in different climate and climatic conditions, dust, dirt and moisture can get into the case. To provide a degree of protection, the pressure sleeve should be insulated or in other words, wrapped with electrical tape.
