Lift the cylinder

 Use the chair lift lever to raise Office Chair A to the highest position.

•  Gently lay the office chair on its side and gather the necessary tools to use with the roller.
• Separate the supplied column collars and secure them to the old chair cylinder using the screws and wrench.
• Tighten the screws so that both shaft collars hug the drum, but make sure they can slide easily along the drum.
• Move both post collars as close to the seat of the chair as possible.
• Only tighten the B-shaft collar so that it holds the roller very tightly and cannot slip.
•  Tighten both bolts evenly so that they begin to press against the A-pillar collar.
• As you continue to tighten these screws, the A-pillar collar will begin to slip and the cylinder will pull away from the seat of the chair.

• Remove the chair base
  Use a rubber mallet (ideally) or a mallet with a wooden block to hit the bottom edge of the old cylinder until the base separates from the cylinder.
• Double check that the chair cylinder is fully extended using the chair lift lever.
•  Using a standard flat screwdriver, remove the retaining clip located under the cylinder as shown in the figures to the left.
•  Once the mounting clip is removed, you will be able to slide the chair base and roller shell away from the chair.

Install New Cylinder

• Hold the new cylinder and remove the red cap covering the button.
•  Place the chair base flat on the floor.
• Place the new roller into the slot in the chair base.
• Place the chair seat on the new roller by aligning the chair seat hole with the new roller.
• Sit in the chair and use the chair lift lever to test the cylinder.
