What is a microswitch and what is it used for ?

What is a micro switch?

The Micro Switch is a very small and sensitive switch that requires minimal pressure to activate.

They are very common in home appliances and switch panels with small buttons.

They are usually inexpensive and have a long life which means they can run for a long time – sometimes up to ten million cycles.

Because they are reliable and sensitive, micro switches are often used as a security device.

How does Micro Switch work?

Small switches have a trigger that, when pressed, raises a lever to move the contacts to the desired position.
