Description
Green/Yellow Earth Terminal Block
Classification: Terminals
ORK DIN rail ONKA series
In order to know what our product is, we must take an overview of the types of earthing and what are they?
1- Direct grounding
- This type of earthing is connected between the tie point and the ground directly by a conductor without any resistances or obstructions. It addresses the defects of the indirect grounding system and is used in the LV system where the ground fault current is small, but it is sufficient to operate the protection relays when any ground fault occurs. It is separated momentarily without any delay, and this system of protection is not suitable for the main circuits in high voltages that require continuity of feeding.
2- Grounding with resistance
- The connection between the break-even point and the earth is through resistance and is used in systems with medium and high voltages in order to limit the voltage rise in the covers of electrical equipment when the fault currents of the earth connection pass through it and its value can be controlled to adjust the maximum height of the voltages of this equipment during the fault and it is also used in grounding a point Tie for generators with voltages higher than 1000 volts.
- This system is used when there is an urgent need to reduce the earth fault current
Grounding advantages:
- Protect equipment and circuits from the risk of excessive fault current.
- Reducing the effect of Arcing Grounding strikes.
- Facilitate the use of ground fault protection devices.
- cost reduction.
- Limit the fault current to values that do not affect the system
That is, it is about connecting objects and metal casings of equipment and devices to the ground through an electrical conductor to avoid a rise in the body’s voltage when contact occurs between it and the current-carrying conductors, which causes its voltage to rise to the face voltage, and thus causes anyone who approaches or touches it to be exposed to the risk of electric shock In order to eliminate this danger, the body of the equipment is grounded, i.e. connected to the ground, so that its voltage becomes equal to the earth’s voltage (close to zero).
Grounding equipment means not only connecting the body of the equipment to the ground, but also connecting all metal parts, bases, and installations that do not carry current to the ground through grounding equipment and tools.
The grounding system is used and applied to:
- Metal sheaths surrounding and covering electrical conductors, such as cable sheaths and reinforcing layers
- Metal structures and casings of electrical machines in general if they are exposed to contact between these structures and the current-carrying conductor.
- Casings and structures of motors, controls, elevators and cranes.
- Devices and equipment in garages, theatres, theaters and studios
- Electrical signaling and display devices
- Motors and generators connected to water pipe networks and pumps.
- Distribution boards and key holders.
- Some non-electric devices and equipment, such as steel ropes used in electric winches and elevators.
- Sockets connected to household appliances that operate with motors, as well as lampshades and electrical hand tools.
- Plugs and barriers connected to industrial equipment unless they are out of reach of individuals.
- Metal belts in chemical factories and petroleum refineries and its derivatives.
- Metal towers carrying high voltage lines.
- High buildings and chimneys of generation units and factories.
OPK (Push-in) spring terminal blocks are a reliable connection that improves technicians’ work, making them faster and more productive.
The contact spring opens automatically after the single-core cable is plugged into the socket.
If necessary, the cable can be easily removed with a screwdriver by pressing the orange button without squeezing the spring. This point is very important for safety reasons.
The highlight of these terminals is that the loosening problems that sometimes occur in screw terminals do not occur in this case.
- ONKA spring tip automatically adjusts to the wire cross-section, provides optimum strength and does not damage the wire. Eliminates the influence of the human factor on the quality of communication.
- The spring clip on the DIN rail greatly speeds up installation time
- ONKA spring station has increased vibration and shock resistance.
- It does not require subsequent technical maintenance.
