When we paint a wall we can run into some problems. In most cases, these problems arise from the wall not being in good condition or not using the correct paint.

Below we see  the most common problems  that usually appear and the solutions that can be implemented.

The paint runs on the wall

It is one of the most common problems and usually appears when  the paint is too thin  .

Sometimes, depending on the paint, it is usually recommended to mix with water, and it may happen that it has been mixed with  too much water  .

Paint coming off the wall

Sometimes when we run the roller along the wall, we notice that the previous paint has peeled off the wall.

The problem usually lies with the wall itself:  it is not in good condition  . This usually happens when the wall has some kind of moisture.

If you have a damp wall, it is best  to address the problem  : first determine what type of moisture is in the wall and then fix it.

It can also happen that the paint is loose due to the presence of  salt on the wall  . As with moisture, it’s important to address the problem before painting.

If we do not have this type of moisture but we see the paint loosening from the wall, we can choose to  apply a coat of sealer beforehand  so that the paint adheres well to the wall later.

After painting, spots appear on the wall

If we have a wall with spots of mold, smoke, rust before painting, etc. It is very common for us to think that it will just disappear with a fresh coat of paint.

It is recommended  to clean the  entire wall and the surface to be painted completely. Preparation before painting is very important.

When the paint dries, it cracks

There are times when we paint a wall and it dries, then  cracks . In these cases, it is usually because the paint has not adhered properly to the wall.

Most likely, the wall  is not completely clean and there are traces of glue or grease  .

To prevent this from happening, it is best to clean the wall well before painting and to ensure a good grip, apply  a coat of primer  and let the paint dry.

If it’s already been painted and the paint has cracks, the process for fixing the problem is the same: Clean well, apply a coat of primer and once dry, paint.

Bubbles appear when painting the wall

If bubbles appear when painting the wall, the reasons can be diverse.

On the other hand, it can be from  stirring or shaking  the paint very vigorously, and thus,  air gets into the mixture,  which leads to the formation of bubbles or even foam.

Another reason could be the type of roller used. In the case of smooth walls, it is best to use short-haired rollers, as long-haired or sponge rollers tend to produce bubbles.
